Astrological Remedies of Ancient India

How to Rebalance What Is Out of Balance in Jyotisha

Overview of Remedies in Vedic Astrology

Astrological Remedies represent what the ancient science of Indian Astrology provides for situations in which something that is out of balance needs to be brought back into balance.

A Remedy is something that acts with the purpose of rebalancing an inner or physical condition that is not in its proper state.

A simple example is that of an Ayurvedic doctor who prescribes a medicine so that the Body may return to its natural balance.

In this case, the doctor has provided a Remedy.

Ayurveda is connected with Jyotisha, because both come from a corpus of teachings belonging to Ancient India.

Sources of Imbalance

In everyday Life there can be many sources of imbalance.

Among the most common we may mention:

  • spending time with “toxic People”;
  • an unbalanced diet;
  • a way of Life that progressively alters our balance.

In the Birth Chart these aspects can be observed astrologically.

An unhealthy diet, for example, can be read through the second House.

Spending time with People who are not useful to one’s Path may emerge through the eleventh House, and so on.

The planetary arrangement at the moment of birth also corresponds to an imprinting upon different areas of the Human Being and, in a particularly important way, upon the mind.

The mental structure of the Person is a very powerful element, capable of guiding them unconsciously at every moment of Life.

Gems as Remedies in Jyotisha

There are different types of Remedies in Vedic Astrology.

Among the best known are Gems and Stones.

Each Planet, and therefore each Energy acting in Life, is associated with a Gem that may be used to strengthen its action.

It is, however, a delicate matter.

The Birth Chart must be analysed in depth in order to understand the subtle karmic balance existing among the Planets and to observe how the different Forces operate in the Person’s Life.

The aim is not simply to “strengthen a weak Planet”, but to understand what really needs to be rebalanced.

When we are on the wrong road, it is easier to make further mistakes.

When we have taken the right path, the possibility of making choices consistent with our Karmic Path increases.

An obvious example is the use of substances that alter the mind.

When the mind is altered, the probability increases that the choices we make will not be the best ones.

In the same way, an unhealthy diet produces tangible effects upon both the Body and the mind.

The Astrological Picture and Karma

The astrological picture describes what, apparently, in the world of duality seems to be the consequence of an unbalanced way of acting.

At the beginning something went “wrong”, that is, it took a particular direction so that the Person could experience the error.

Each Person has constructed their own Karma, according to which they will have to experience certain situations.

When the error is not understood, it often ends up becoming suffering.

Vedic Astrology has the task of helping the Person to see:

  • where they come from;
  • where they are;
  • where they are going;
  • what their own Nature is, when they have not yet understood it.

All this is written in the Astrological Configuration.

It is composed of the arrangement of the Planets, the placement of the Houses, the Asterisms or Nakshatra, the Zodiac Signs, the planetary sequence and the sequence of the Astrological Signs in the different Dasha, together with the other tools of Jyotisha.

A Practical Example: Mercury and Saturn

If Mercury is weakened in the Birth Chart and the analysis shows that it is appropriate to strengthen it, Emerald may be used.

It is, however, fundamental to remember that there are also cases in which a Planet, although weakened, should not be strengthened.

For this reason, the use of Gems cannot be decided on the basis of a generic rule.

If, instead, the Planet concerned is Saturn, a Blue Sapphire or Amethyst may be used, and similarly for the other Planets.

Gems therefore represent one of the possible Remedies in Jyotisha, the wonderful Vedic Astrology.

Conduct as a Remedy in Vedic Astrology

Another type of Remedy is represented by conduct in everyday Life, that is, by Right Action.

Performing good actions is an eternal Remedy, always valid and effective within the economy of the Universe.

There are actions of a universal nature, such as helping those in need even through simple service.

There are also more specific actions, usually suggested by an Astrologer, which concern the personal history of the Person and the set of karmic rules governing their Life.

An example may help to clarify the concept.

If, during one’s experience, mistakes have been made through harshness, neglect or lack of attention towards elderly People, rebalancing may take place precisely through actions directed towards that same area.

One might, for example, dedicate part of one’s Time to assisting an elderly Person, volunteer in a facility dedicated to the elderly, or simply offer regular presence, listening and service to someone in need.

The principle is to restore balance precisely where a fracture had previously been created.

The Universe has its own economy.

It is a complex system of Energies that are also expressed through our actions, and Vedic Astrology describes this aspect of human experience very well.

The Search for Truth as a Remedy

A constant Search for Truth in Life is also part of useful conduct.

It is important, however, to understand what Truth really is, because it is something very different from an easy or superficial answer.

In this sense too, Jyotisha can be of great help.

The Orgonite Hearts

There are also other Remedies that arose from my studies, my Path and personal experience.

They are inexpensive Remedies, capable of working on different planes and, in my experience, of maintaining a certain stability of action over Time, as happens with Gems.

Among these are the Orgonite Hearts, whose detailed description can be found on the page dedicated to the Hearts, within the Remedies section.

Update 2023: I no longer produce Orgonite, because my Time is now absorbed by the continuous requests for Birth Chart Analyses and requests for help in an increasingly difficult world.

Food as a Remedy According to Ancient Indian Astrology

The food that we introduce into our Body every day also exerts a very strong influence.

Food is a form of Energy, just as the Planets, Zodiac Signs and we ourselves are.

The famous phrase attributed to Paracelsus remains ever relevant:

“Let your Food be your Medicine.”

The analysis of the second House of the Birth Chart and of the planetary influences acting upon it allows us to observe how balanced or unbalanced the Person may be in their daily diet.

Combining Several Remedies

Combining different techniques, when they are compatible with one another, can strengthen the rebalancing Action.

Right Action, the Orgonite Hearts, suitable Food and Purification of the Body can together form an important combination of Forces working in the same direction.

Wanting to change one’s Life for the better, loving oneself and making choices that can bear fruit over Time requires, however, first of all, Good Will.

There must be a genuine intention to do so.

When this intention is present, the road — or the roads — gradually begin to take shape and become visible even through the mists of Life.

Turning to Vedic Astrology can be of great help and, in some cases, can become decisive, as has happened in many of my consultations.
