Jupiter is the Guru, also known as Brihaspati. It is also known as Deva Guru, the teacher of the Gods.
Together with Venus, Jupiter forms the Pair of Ministers in the planetary scheme. It is a natural benefic and represents good judgement, Discernment, Higher Guidance, education not in the scholastic sense but in the spiritual sense, Knowledge and therefore happiness (not understood as the satisfaction of pleasures, but as inner serenity).
