The Hessonite Gem is called Gomed in Hindi and Gomedak in Sanskrit. It is ruled by Rahu and is said to be particularly powerful in the Kali Yuga, the present age. It is a Gem particularly suitable for certain rather difficult astrological combinations such as Sarpa Dosha, also known as the curse of the Serpent.
These are planetary combinations that reveal rather demanding Karma and can bring problems such as confusion, fears, psychosis, mental problems, personality disorders, and frequent enemies in life. In these combinations, Rahu plays a very active role. Hessonite is a very particular Gem and, although it may be prescribed in certain difficult planetary combinations, it is always advisable to try it for a few days and observe very carefully what happens. Generally, 3 days are sufficient.
