Love and Compassion in Vedic Astrology
Love and Compassion: two sides of a single Column, perhaps the most important one in Life.
Two Columns of Life fused into One
Love and Compassion are two fundamental aspects of Life, not always understood and often even ignored. They are two ingredients that prevent the seeds of division from germinating.
They are visible in a Birth Chart, just as division, anger and violence are.
Love is probably the most sought-after feeling in the world and, at the same Time, one of the most difficult to find and above all to maintain, if not even avoided!
The number of divorces and conflicts present in everyday Life is clear evidence of this.
The Energy of friction arises from separation and is not always immediately visible, because it is often already embedded in the cultural and social fabric in which we live.
Compassion, on the other hand, is often almost completely forgotten.
We live in the Kali Yuga, an Era in which precisely the opposites of Love and Compassion tend to prevail.
The Love that seems able to change the world
How many relationships begin in euphoria? These are those moments in which you feel capable of embracing the entire world.
You have an apparently inexhaustible Energy, a Vitality that seems to spray all around you and that everyone is able to perceive. You almost become a child again, everything seems possible.
You are even amazed at how Life had always been in your hands: you only had to want it and, finally, now you do.
It is as though a very powerful Astrological Remedy had been activated.
I have known People deeply in love with their Guru and Gurus deeply in love with God.
Many of these People expressed the same Joy.
Their gaze seemed to lose itself in an infinite landscape, where the horizon was continually caressed by a Sun shining upon their face.
Why do so many couples fail?
Couple relationships have a very high percentage of failures and, at the same Time, they are one of the experiences most sought after and continually repeated by the Human Being.
In many couples who enter a crisis, the word “I” appears with great force.
And the phrase often appears as well: “When I met you, you were a different Person. I no longer recognise you.” As though People were supposed to remain forever frozen in the same behaviour. As though changing were a mistake.
The Planets move at every moment and form continuously different combinations, and some configurations may return only after hundreds of years. In the language of Vedic Astrology, these continuous transformations accompany our Path and push us towards ever-new experiences.
But does Life never change?
…..Everything changes in Life! There is practically nothing that does not evolve into something else, and change itself is not the cause of the end of a relationship.
Not allowing the other Person to change, grow and mature is instead equivalent to saying: “You are an object of pleasure for me and you must continue to give me the pleasure that made me fall in love with you.”
Many relationships are born mainly from sexuality and from sharing common pleasures such as cinema, food, travel, friendships, social life and shared interests.
But everything changes in Life.
And precisely what initially united two People may gradually transform. Even sex, after a certain Time, may become an ordinary habit and at that point one may be led to look elsewhere in an attempt to rediscover the pleasure that seems to have faded.
It is also easy to forget that, as the years pass, sexuality itself changes through physiological evolution. If there is nothing else in the relationship, a deeper substance to share, something capable of transforming together with the People involved, then great suffering may begin.
What Error is there in Life? What does a Vedic Astrologer suggest?
Where is the error? What is the cause of this incessant repetition of the same dynamics?
What are the Planetary Yoga, that is, the astrological combinations that may favour certain behaviours?
The crisis in relationships does not arise only within the couple.
We must also observe the society in which we live and what we introduce into our minds every day. What do we see in television news, films and a substantial part of contemporary entertainment? ……Murders, accidents, torture, conflicts, violence and a progressive loss of respect for others.
Continually exposing ourselves to this type of content also means feeding certain inner Energies. It is as though we were continually activating Forces that push towards pain, fear and separation.
What use is it then to pray, perform Puja or other religious rites if, in everyday Life, we ourselves do not choose a useful Life?
What can we do to change? Can Vedic Astrology help?
The first question to ask ourselves might be:
“Is this kind of society in which I live intelligent?” What has it produced?
It has produced a great amount of suffering, often covered over by illusions presented as indispensable goals:
- a beautiful home, a luxury car, a strong image of ourselves to show others, sex continually sought after, the need always to possess something more.
There is nothing wrong with having what makes Life comfortable. The problem arises from the way in which we want to obtain it and from greed, from the desire to have everything immediately.
Can Vedic Astrology help?
Yes. But Will must be the driving force.
What solutions can be adopted? Where should we intervene in the Birth Chart? The first step consists in expressing to ourselves a real Will to change.
And in order to do this, we must look within ourselves at what we truly are.
The Analysis of the Birth Chart, that is, of one’s Horoscope, can be of great help in finding the Map of one’s Life and understanding where to intervene.
Vedic Astrology is a very useful tool for observing: where we come from, where we are, which dynamics are operating, where we are going, what we can do to modify our Path.
Transformation does not arise only from knowledge of an astrological configuration. It arises from the ability to see what that configuration represents within us and from the Will to work on it.
The Journey into the Land of the Self
In my “Journey into the Land of the Self” courses, through a guided and playful Path, it was possible to experience an encounter with one’s own Soul, with one’s true Self. That Self which remains beneath the superstructures built during Life and waits to be brought back to the surface.
A new Life, not necessarily different in its outward circumstances, but truer, more conscious and more worthy of being lived.
Love and Compassion, from this perspective, are not merely feelings.
They are Forces of union, capable of preventing separation from becoming the dominant principle of our Life, and it is precisely for this reason that they can become one of the most important Columns of our Path.
